Alice Karakurkchi is a contemporary artist whose work explores themes of human vulnerability, legal insecurity, and the interrelations between nature, humans, and society. Her art addresses pressing social issues, exposing hidden contradictions and hypocrisy in their norms and ethics.
Born in 1983 in Baku, Azerbaijan, she currently lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal, where she actively develops her unique artistic practice.
Since 2018, she has been engaged in contemporary art and, in 2021, completed a painting course at the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Since 2019, she has actively participated in 28 international group exhibitions, including representing Portugal at the Art Capital 2025 (France), Fabriano in Acquarello 2025 (Italy), International Watercolor Masters (UK), and The Women in Watercolor (USA). In 2021, she received an Honorable Mention at the 2nd The Women in Watercolor (USA).
Her works have found their place in private collections worldwide, including Switzerland, Portugal, Russia, the USA, China, France, and the Netherlands.
